Spartan Ops – Episode 8

Another week and another set of missions for the brave Spartan IVs aboard the UNSC Infinity. And that means only one thing…another episode of CGI gorgeousness. This week there is much face kickery. Much like last week…

Spartan Ops Episodes 6 & 7

After a brief hiatus, Spartan Ops is back. I’ve been a bit slow off the mark putting up the two new episodes partly because I’ve been working on The Shell Case Shorts Anthology and partly because I’ve been slogging my way through the Spartan Ops missions that can be found as part of the Halo 4 offering.

It’s a brilliant way of fleshing out the Halo Universe 4 years on from Halo 3 as much has changed within the UNSC both politically and technologically, but also expanding the sub plot without detracting from the main storyline. And it probably means I’m going to have to play through the campaign again just so I’m clear in my mind how everything fits together.

But anyway, without further yapping from me, here’s episodes 6 and 7 of Spartan Ops. There is more shooty boomness and shit gets slightly real.

Halo 4: Spartan Ops

I’m a little late to the party on this one but it’s so immensely cool I had to share it. On Halo Waypoint those mentalists over at 343 Industries have produced a mini series chronicling the unseen events of the UNSC Infinity and her teams of Spartan IVs during the events of Halo 4.

Aside from being visually stunning it gives us a valuable insight into the UNSC post Covenant War, the UNSC Infinity as a vessel and the new generation of Spartans. These Spartans are volunteers, rather than victims of government sanctioned abductions, however they appear to be an even more stripped down version than the Spartan IIIs. Just as vainglorious as the IIIs but appear to lack the psychotically reckless behavioural problems that saw the IIIs spent before the war’s conclusion. Smaller in stature and, I suspect, physical prowess the Spartan IVs do sport the mark VII MJOLNIR armour dubbed GEN2.

Below are the first two episodes of Spartan Ops and I shall be posting the others as they become available. Enjoy.
